Amokabel Celebrates a Landmark Achievement with Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited

We are thrilled to announce that Amokabel has received an exceptionally positive letter from the Central Board of Irrigation & Power (CBIP) in India, recognizing the significant advancements made by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) using our 66kV Covered Conductor. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to innovation, excellence, and collaboration in the power transmission sector.
Here are some highlights from the letter, which we are proud to share as it emphasizes the remarkable accomplishments facilitated by our covered conductors:

Greetings from CBIP!!!

We extend our warmest congratulations to you and the team at Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited for the successful up-gradation of the existing 220kV D/C Hoody to the 220 kV station in Yelahanka, Bengaluru. This achievement, transitioning to a 220kV multi-circuit Tower TL comprising 2 circuits 220kV and 2 circuits 66kV, without necessitating a shutdown, and addressing the load demand through the construction of a 66kV 3km section with covered conductor on 11m Spun Poles, is indeed commendable.

The project's approach, particularly in navigating the complexities of urban settings, is noteworthy. The decision to bring down the line to an 11m spun pole and subsequently erect poles with a 3m clearance between the line and surrounding structures, demonstrates foresight and meticulous planning. Additionally, the adaptation to various scenarios, such as erecting poles on medians where existing lines were located alongside roads, underscores the agility and resourcefulness of your team.

The reduction in Right of Way (RoW) from 18m to 5m for the 66kV TL, facilitated by the use of covered conductor, is a significant achievement. This not only signifies substantial cost savings but also addresses challenges associated with acquiring RoW in urban and densely populated areas, as well as compliance with evolving regulations pertaining to compensation.
Your invaluable contributions in this regard will undoubtedly enrich the updated manual, transforming it into a definitive reference document for professionals in the Power Sector.
We eagerly anticipate your support and cooperation in this endeavor, which holds significant importance on a national scale.

With warm regards,

Yours sincerely,

A.K. Dinkar
Secretary
Central Board of Irrigation and Power
