Renewable Energy

Amokabel has made long-term investments in local production of certified renewable electricity. In 2024, the total energy output from our own solar, wind, and hydroelectric facilities amounted to 14 000 000 kWh. This covers a significant portion of our annual energy needs, although not yet the full consumption.

Our ambition is to become indirectly self-sufficient in electricity—that is, to produce as much renewable electricity annually as we consume, even if the production and consumption occur at different times. This goal reflects our long-standing commitment to sustainability and reinforces our contribution to a fossil-free energy system.

To optimize energy use further, we have also invested in battery storage, enabling us to reduce peak loads and ease pressure on the grid during high-demand periods. This creates both environmental and financial value and strengthens our resilience in a rapidly changing energy landscape.
